Skechers executives assist Kanye West to leave the building, company reports

Skechers, an athletic shoe company, stated Wednesday in a statement that two of its executives took Kanye West from one of its Los Angeles buildings.

According to the company, West arrived unannounced and was not invited. He was then escorted away “after a brief discussion.”

The company stated Wednesday that Skechers was not interested in and had no plans to work with West. “We condemn his recent divisive comments and don’t tolerate antisemitism, or any other form of hate speech.”

Skechers (SKX’s West’s visit comes a day following Adidas’s abrupt end to its partnership with West. Adidas placed the “partnership under review,” in October after West wore a “White Lives Matter T-shirt” in public. According to the Anti-Defamation League, the phrase is a hate slogan used by White supremacist groups like the Ku Klux Klan.

In a tirade against Jews, West recently said that “I can say antisemitic and Adidas cannot drop” during a tirade on the Drink Champs Podcast. On Twitter, he threatened to “Go death 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE.”

Gap, Foot Locker, and TJ Maxx are just a few of the other companies that have retreated from the West in recent times.
